The use of solar energy is becoming more and more common. Within the scope of the Environment-Friendly 1000 Schools Project of the Ministry of National Education, solar power plants are being installed in 1000 schools across Turkey. In Istanbul, Bahçeşehir Tek Schools started to get its energy from the sun. 157 solar panels installed on the roof of the school produce approximately 100 thousand kilowatts of energy per year. It has been announced that the system is equivalent to the regeneration of approximately 125 trees per year. In the garden of the school, which provides education with the goal of "Zero waste" and "Clean energy", vegetables and fruits are grown together with students of all ages, thus enabling new generations to meet agriculture. Celal Serzan Timuçin, the founder of Bahçeşehir Tek Schools, said, “Leaving a clean world for our children has been our source of inspiration.”
